This Saturday we are drinking the first coffee with PTPI Skopje President - Angel Dimitrievski. You can read something more about the current projects at People to People International creACTive Student Chapter. Feel free to know more about Angel and his interests while reading his interview. As he says PTPI changed his life a lot in the past year :
„As part of PTPI I have grown up both in age and in experience. The days of leading and being part of this chapter will be forever written as my best memories. “
1.Tell us something about you briefly.
I’m Angel Dimitrievski. I live in Skopje – Macedonia. Currently I’m a graduate student at the Medical High School in Skopje. I love medicine especially pharmacy and that is why I have decided to continue studying this in my university studies. My passionate hobby is writing and I really enjoy doing this.
2. What chapter are you currently member in ? How do you like the atmosphere in your chapter?
I’m the president of People to People International creACTive Student Chapter. So far we have done some outstanding projects together with the PTPI Skopje members. I think that the connectivity and the friendly attitude between us contributed to the big success of our chapter. We are the only chapter in Macedonia and by our existence of two years we are currently at one very satisfactory level. This year we got the Gold Reward regarding the Team Peace Challenge. I’m really proud that for the first time in the history of our chapter the Gold Reward came while I am in the position as a president. I therefore appreciate all the work that our volunteers have done in the past year and they are still the reason of our big success.
3.Can you tell us something more about the current projects you have in your chapter?
The start of February will be opened with presentations for healthy food in some of the local kindergartens in Skopje. At the end of this month we are completing the joined project with our sister chapter PTPI The Dolphins Varna. Our chapter members will have a book reading hours at the Skopje Children Clinic. We are going to give the children a collection of children books and toys.
In March we are organizing workshops at the local ZOO with kids from vulnerable social areas that live in the SOS Children village. Also in March we will celebrate the international day of Ecology.
One of our biggest event so far will be in April for the Global Youth Service Day. We are planning to organize Career Day in Skopje that will help the high school students to choose their future careers.
4.What changes has PTPI brought in your life?
I must say that PTPI changed my life on the bright side and all that during one year . I got in touch with so many new people that are now part of my life. I’ve gained some excellent leadership skills which were born spontaneously while I was volunteering in PTPI.
As part of PTPI I have grown up both in age and in experience. The days of leading and being part of this chapter will be forever written as my best memories.
5.Have you been given the opportunity to travel via PTPI programs? How would you describe this experience ?
I participated in the last year European Youth Forum in Berlin. The program was admiring and brought to me a lot of new friendships. I was standing face to face with the biggest culture diversities and I appreciate the opportunity that PTPI gave to me. On the seven day adventure in Germany I celebrated my 18-th birthday and the participants from the 7 different countries made it to be even more special.
6.What would you recommend to the youth that are still thinking whether to be part of a local PTPI Chapter or not?
I strongly recommend youth students from 13 to 18 years to join our chapter. We are open to new members anytime and anyone can start „diving“ into the adventure of Peace though Understanding.
