Humanitarian action in the old people’s home „Meri Terzieva“ in Skopje
This time the PTPI members decided to organize a humanitarian action. The aim of this project was to surprise the grannies in the old people’s home with flowers of paper, postcards and our traditional „martinki“ on the 8-th of March-the international women’s day.
A lot of people from our team worked really hard on making the presents for the surprise. We also had a lot of help from two EVS volunteers- one from Estonia and the other one from France.
Day before that, on the 7-th of March we gathered in our office and accomplished the creative part of the project. We designed origami flowers, handmade postcards and we made martinki on our own to prove that not just the expensive presents can steal a smile on someone’s face.
We proved that the next day when four representatives of our team went at the Meri Terzieava home and they gave the presents to the grannies. They were very happy that someone remembered about them, they had a conversation with us and wished us the best in our lives. We got presents from them too.
And that’s how it ended another 8-th of March, much different than the previous years. This project was a way to prove that we as volunteers didn’t invest money in this project but we got a fortune of happiness, we invested efforts and as a result we got a motivation for working other projects like this one !
